Dr. Vernice L. Wright is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC), who is also certified as a Co-occuring Disorder Professional (CODP-I/ MISA). Dr Wright is also a Certified Anger Management Specialist II (CAMS-II) and a member of the National Anger Management Association (NAMA). She specializes in individual, group, couples, and family therapy [along with anger management, grief counseling, DUD education, and veteran's reintegration], and maintains a private practice in [Waukegan,IL].

Wit h o v er 20 years experience as a mental health, addiction counselor, and family therapist, and as a doctorate graduate of Argosy University in Counseling Psychology enhanced program of Counseling Education and Supervision, EdD; also a graduate of National-Louis University (M.A in Psychology, M.A in Counseling, Post-BA in Psychological Assessment s) she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are anger management, mental health, addictions, PTSD, Dual Diagnosi s, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression (to name a few). She is also a certified DUI provider and educator, in Illinois.

She has met all educational requirements at Argosy University (Illinois School of Professional Psychology) in completing her Doctorate courses in C ounseling Education & Supervision, she is (ABD) all but dissertation and finalizing her EdD with a research topic on Women Recovering from Postpartum Depression. In addition to being a prominent family therapist, Vernice has been a professor of Master-Level Student at Adler School of Professional Psychology, as well as Argosy University and taught Advanced Theories, Addictions, and Psycho-Education. She has also trained and supervised numerous college students working to obtain certification as an addictions counselor, mental health professional, and social worker.

Dr. Vernice L. Wright is an interactive, person-centered, solution-focused therapist who utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy and brief interventions techniques. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Education: AA S in Human Services & Addiction Counseling @ The College of Lake County; BA in Psychology @ Columbia College of Missouri; Post BA in Psych Assessments (NLU); MA in Psychology & MS in Counseling @ National-Louis University (NLU) graduated Summa Cum Laude. A Doctorate Graduate in Counseling Education & Supervision (EdD/ CES) @ Argosy University. Specialized study was a completed research/ dissertation on Recovering from Postpartum Depression (PPD).

License: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certifications & Awards in all honor societies from undergraduate throughout graduate school.

DUI Certified; Hazmat Certified, MISA Certified, CADC- Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor by IAODAPCA and a Certified Trainer in Non-Violent Physical Crisis Interventions (CPI) and New Hire Orientation.
